We are officially established!
Two years ago on April 19th, on a whim, I created a small group chat. After two cycles of winter turning to spring, we have finally become an official club.
I am Jianmo, also the founder of the Minecraft Club at Shanghai Institute of Technology.
The fruition of all our efforts would not have been possible without the support of all the teachers, classmates, and friends who have followed our club's development. This is a letter of gratitude to all friends who have cared about the Hexagonal Dinosaur Club.
I remember the day the group was first created. Staring at the screen, I typed the first character, unaware that this simple click would embark us on such a heartwarming journey.
In the early days of the group chat, there were only a handful of people. We shared our gaming experiences and discussed topics that might seem trivial to others. Late at night, the chime of message notifications echoed one after another, like fireflies flickering in the darkness. Gradually, more fireflies gathered. Like most Minecraft clubs, we started with just a simple group chat, then decided to recreate our school in the game, applied to become an official club, and established our own server. Those late-night conversations have, over the river of time, finally crystallized into brilliant amber.
I also remember our first offline gathering. Familiar usernames transformed into lively faces, and virtual exchanges turned into genuine warmth. We sat together like old friends reunited after a long separation, yet also like kindred spirits meeting for the first time. The process of applying for official club status felt like a marathon. We faced doubts, encountered setbacks, and even argued over disagreements. Every piece of application material was a product of our collective effort. Looking back now, all of it feels so precious.
Looking back on our journey, what moves me most is the perseverance and dedication of every club member. It is you who, despite busy schedules of work and study, still devoted time to club affairs. It is you who, with unparalleled passion, turned ideas into reality. It is you who kept this collective warm and vibrant. Every contribution from each of you is like a star, together forming a galaxy that illuminates our path forward.
Now, standing at this new starting point, we take pride in our past achievements and look forward to the future with anticipation. The Minecraft Club is like a tree we planted together. After two years of nurturing, it has finally taken firm root. And I believe that in the years to come, it will flourish with lush branches and leaves, bearing fruit.
We thank fate for bringing us together, time for letting us understand each other, and every one of you for making this collective so special. May we continue to walk hand in hand on this dream-chasing journey, writing more warm and beautiful stories. Because of you, this spring is exceptionally bright.
