The Shanghai Institute of Technology Minecraft Club was officially established on March 13, 2025, as a registered academic-oriented student organization at the university. Founded with the purpose of fostering friendly communication and cooperative gameplay, it is dedicated to providing a platform for all Minecraft enthusiasts on campus.
Since its establishment, the club has launched the "Pixel SIT: Shanghai Institute of Technology Restoration Project," which aims to recreate the real terrain and architectural features of the university's campuses in Minecraft, showcasing the spirit of SIT to alumni and the wider community. The project is planned in three phases, with the first phase—the restoration of the Fengxian Campus—currently underway. The project began on September 5, 2023, and is the primary ongoing initiative of SIT-Minecraft. As of now, 40% of the first phase has been completed.
In the future, the Shanghai Institute of Technology Minecraft Axolotl Club will continue to uphold the university motto of “Virtue, Knowledge, and Action” to optimize and develop further, striving to become a dreamland for every Minecraft enthusiast at SIT.
