On March 23, 2024, the third season, first episode of the University Alliance Tea Party, organized by the Minecraft University Alliance, was successfully held. During this exchange event, we invited Zimin, a Bilibili Top 100 UP主 and a well-known Minecraft commentator and streamer, as our special guest. Zimin had previously participated in the third ”Wangdao Zhengtu“ Cup of the MUA University Mini-Game League and had also attended offline events at some member universities. In this tea party, he shared his views on the current development status of Minecraft and related issues, engaging in friendly exchanges and experience sharing with students from MUA member universities across the country.
Regarding the issue of Minecraft players, Zimin cited the player situation reflected by the Minecraft organization group at Central South University as an example, pointing out the vast number of Minecraft players in universities nationwide. He also expressed hope that universities within the alliance could collaborate and continue to develop by sharing experiences with one another. Currently, many member universities, including ours, are working on campus restoration projects to showcase their campuses' features and maintain students' interest in the game.
Despite the large player base, a significant number of member universities have yet to establish formal Minecraft clubs. On this issue, Nanjing University shared its real development journey from an obscure small group to a mature club. Often, we merely lack an opportunity for promotion. If Minecraft can be reasonably promoted, it can attract more like-minded individuals to gradually grow the community and even gain recognition from the university administration.
Regarding the operation of official social media accounts for various universities, Zimin generously shared his insights based on his own experience. Often, content produced by gaming自媒体 does not necessarily align with mainstream trends but instead genuinely showcases the joy of the game to the audience. Some videos are even created with the original intention of inspiring classmates who are striving hard for their futures. In this way, the charm of Minecraft can touch everyone with dreams. Additionally, leveraging the highly free and creative nature of Minecraft, we can even produce documentaries, public service announcements, educational科普 videos, and related themed mini-games to generate corresponding social value.
Finally, what Minecraft brings us is not just entertainment but can also relate to our lives.
